We very much appreciate all members and visitors following our request over the previous weeks. #1884

Open Qualifying

Formby has an amazing array of young golfers, 5 of whom (George Hanson, George Apel, Paul Kinnear, Tom Hughes & Tom Farrelly) are attempting to qualify for the 151st Open. The qualifying round will take place at Hesketh Golf Club next Monday and we wish them every success.

Play well boys! #1884

Junior Team Summer League

Formby’s junior team kicked off their summer league matches this weekend with a well fought victory against West Lancashire Golf Club.

At home and in glorious conditions, Formby landed a 3.5-1.5 Matchplay win.

Well played boys! #1884

Bill Renison Trophy

Congratulations to Hesketh Golf Club on their victory today in the Bill Renison Trophy with some fantastically consistent golf across the team.

Special mention must be made to a course record equalling 66 from Ormskirk Golf Club’s James Nash.

Fabulous day, great golf! #1884

Formby Hare Winner

Congratulations to Formby Hare winner Greg Holmes from Royal Birkdale.

Greg, a previous Hare winner, shot two amazing rounds of 69 and 70! Very well played and a worthy victor #1884

New Course Record

Many congratulations to +3 handicapper and Lancashire player Tom Hughes on his gross 66 in Saturday’s Spring Meeting Day 2!

With the changes to the course recently this is a new course record! Huge potential for the future and we will watch his development with eager anticipation.

Tom, with a bogey free round, has put at least some of his success down to the competition he faced from playing partner Anthony Stirling who himself shot an amazing 68.

The quality of young golfer at the club is now higher than ever before, it is certainly a future to look forward to!
