Snooker evening with Shaun Murphy
Nicknamed ‘The Magician’, 2005 snooker World Champion Shaun Murphy joined us at the club for an evening of fabulous snooker and entertainment.
A number of members were given the opportunity to play a frame against Shaun and thoroughly enjoyed it, memories to last a lifetime!

‘Formby Hare’ 2024
Sunday May 19th sees the return of the Formby Hare to Formby Golf Club.
The scratch competition, played over 36 holes, will see the finest amateur golfers from the country play for the famous replica ‘Formby Hare’, won last year by Royal Birkdale’s Greg Holmes.

Junior Captain Announcement
The Junior Committee at Formby Golf Club Ltd is pleased to announce that Niall Lynch has accepted the nomination to be Junior Captain for 2024.
We wish Niall well for his “year in office”. Niall will take over from current Junior Captain Dylan Caton in March. We would also like to thank Dylan for supporting the junior section over many years.
We would like to wish all of the visitors to our club and golfers from all over the World a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous 2024!

Josh Rimmer and his Ryder Cup experience
Formby Golf Club Assistant Operations Manager Josh Rimmer was chosen to be part of the Ryder Cup 2023 Hospitality Operations Team in Italy.
Reflecting on his time in Italy, Josh commented ‘Being a Golfer myself and working as an Operations Manager at one of the finest Links Courses in the UK, being part of the Ryder Cup was a fantastic experience for me. It was an absolute pleasure to work on such an unbelievable global event and tournament, and being given the opportunity to work with some of the elite people in the industry allowed me to gain so much experience and new skills I will take with me into my career going forward.’
We are very proud that Josh was involved and shows the quality of work, service and positive interaction with members and visitors that we all experience on a day to day basis at the club.
