The Professional

Andrew Witherup is the Head Professional at Formby Golf Club and has been in this role since 2007.

During his time at Formby, Andrew has developed a coaching, custom fit and retail service. Andrew provides professional coaching to members and guests in his state-of-the-art indoor golf studio. This excellent facility also allows the professional team to help golfers find the correct equipment and provide a first-class custom fitting service.

Andrew and his team are constantly improving their skills and qualifications to ensure they remain on the cutting edge of the profession.

Andrew helps grow the game and runs regular training programs for women, along with a junior academy.

Lessons & Coaching

Andrew Witherup and his staff offer a wide range of coaching options, which are suitable for all ages and capacities. Tuition can be personalised to meet an individual need or taken as a group. Lessons are available 7 days a week and cover all aspects of the game from swing improvement to course management.

Finally, Andrew’s Professional Team is also proud to offer a state-of-the-art indoor coaching facility with the use of GASP LAB. This installation uses video analytics to concentrate on specific areas of a player’s technique. The technology allows us to record, analyse and evaluate a golfer’s swing. This powerful visualisation capability can help the golfer to relate better to their golf swing and those aspects of the swing which they are looking to improve.
