Open Competitions

Formby Golf Club hosts a number of Open Competitions throughout the year including the famous ‘Formby Hare’.

Sunday 17th May 2026 - Formby Hare
The Formby Hare is an elite amateur scratch competition played over 36-holes. Players taking part in Formby Hare an S&A Bowl will compete for the Lancashire Links Trophy which is a 72-hole World Amateur Golf Ranking event.
The 2026 Formby Hare will take place on Sunday 17^th May, and will be the 77^th staging of the competition.

Monday 10th August 2026 - Junior Mixed Open
The 2026 Formby Junior Open will be played on Monday August 10^th.
