Last evening saw Part 2 of the enthralling series of online ‘club history’ presentations from member and club historian Ian Jamson.
Covering the period from the beginning of World War 2 to present day it was amazing to see so many old pictures, interesting pieces of information on the development of the course and clubhouse and overviews of some of the events we have hosted including the Curtis Cup, Arnold Palmer Cup and Amateur Championships.
Thanks to Ian for all of his hard work and dedication to what were fabulous presentations.
Below you will find two pictures which were part of the presentation. One of our old short 9th hole running parallel to Formby beach and the other an overlay of our old 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th holes, some of which can now be only found on Formby beach through extensive coastal erosion.
